Ramy Bassily speaks at the 10th ICC YAAF Global Conference in London
Ramy Bassily speaks at the 10th ICC YAAF Global Conference in London on 16 October 2026. He represents the Middle East on a panel that brings together arbitration practitioners from the seven regions of the world. He appears on the roundtable titled “Arbitration and ADR World Tour”, which surveys the state of arbitration across the world.
This participation follows the mandate given to Ramy Bassily on his appointment as ICC YAAF Representative for the Middle East for the 2026-2028 term.
A panel on the state of arbitration worldwide
Ramy Bassily speaks on the roundtable titled “Arbitration and ADR World Tour”, from 11.00 to 12.15, followed by a question and answer session. ADR means alternative dispute resolution, that is, procedures other than State court litigation, such as arbitration and mediation. The panel offers a tour of the current state of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution around the world, drawing on recent developments and landmark jurisprudence from each region.
Each speaker presents developments from their own region, then comments on another. The format highlights where systems converge and where they diverge, and allows a comparison of how far different regions have progressed on shared questions. Ramy Bassily brings the perspective of the Middle East and North Africa, where he acts as counsel and as arbitrator.
A global conference for arbitration practitioners
The ICC YAAF Global Conference is a biennial gathering that brings practitioners of arbitration and alternative dispute resolution from across the world to London. According to the International Chamber of Commerce, the ICC YAAF network has seven regional chapters, eighty-nine regional representatives and more than thirty-four thousand members, across two hundred and six countries. Its purpose is to support dispute resolution practitioners aged forty and under.
What the participation brings
For practitioners in the region, the engagement opens a point of contact with the global ICC YAAF network and its chapters. It extends the experience Lead up has gained in proceedings conducted under the principal arbitral institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce. It helps bring developments from the Middle East to an international audience of practitioners.
The conference takes place in the same week as the ICC United Kingdom annual arbitration conference, on 14 October 2026. Registration for the ICC YAAF Global Conference is open: ICC registration page.
